Project Structure
This Stewardship 360 project builds on the work done in 2017 with the apparel sector, and focuses on working practices within food retail companies. These large consumer facing businesses are significant employers, directly and indirectly, and have the power to influence complex global supply chains.
The Forum organised a conference with Sainsbury’s, Tesco and industry experts. Working with Sainsbury’s, The Forum arranged investor access to two private UK-based fresh produce suppliers, to show investors front-line examples of labour supply challenges. The Forum also engaged constructively with Tesco’s Responsible Sourcing Director.
